Right now, all gatherings are online. We started on 21 March putting the national Green Party conference online. 775 people came. Since then we have run public meetings, social gatherings and local meetings for supporters in different parts of Oxfordshire. There are some interesting online events coming up.
Social gatherings
Are you interested in chatting to other Greens? We have moved our monthly Green Party socials online, replacing our gatherings in the Oxford Blue. The next Green Party online social is on Friday 24 April.
There are other social gatherings organised by local branches in the Oxfordshire Green Party.
Interesting talks
Helen Gavin will be talking about Integrating Renewable Energy on 29 April. She will set out a high-level picture of renewables in the UK, giving an insight on the advances that have been made, what is currently happening, and the challenges that still face us. Helen works at the Environmental Change Institute, at Oxford University, currently in a role with the Oxford Martin Programme on Integrating Renewable Energy.
Then on 8 May we will have our first Green Book Club event. John Foster will introduce Facing up to climate reality and discuss the ideas within it.
Training sessions
While we are spending so much time staying at home, take this opportunity to develop your campaigning skills. Look in our event pages for announcements of online training sessions. We have set up local Zoom meetings for members to follow up national party training sessions on:
- organising online meetings
- social media
- writing emails
- running meetings
We are also planning training sessions on:
- phoning to engage supporters
- door-knocking voters
