Come and learn how to find Green voters

There are important elections in May 2015: to elect our MPs, and to select councillors for the district councillors in Oxfordshire. We all need to learn how to campaign in elections, so the Oxfordshire Green Party is arranging a series of election training events.

Right now there are 2 by-elections in Oxford, one in Carfax on 4 September, the second in Quarry and Risinghurst on 18 September. So this is an ideal opportunity to learn and practice talking to voters and finding out how likely they are to vote Green. Once we know where our voters live, we can remind them to vote on polling day. We have lost elections before just because too many of our voters stayed at home.

This process, of knocking on doors and talking to voters for 2 minutes, is called canvassing. There is a technique to doing this well, which you will learn in our training event. We use a script designed by psychologist in the Brighton Green Party, that politely gets voters to gradually reveal their voting intentions.

Training programme on Sat. 6 Sept. 2014
