Zero Emission Zone pilot approved for August launch by Cabinet

Greens have expressed support for the 'zero emission zone' but have pointed out that the pilot approved will have little impact on air quality within the City Centre. 

Says Green Councillor Dick Wolff, "Though welcome, the inaccurately named  zero emission zone will not be zero emission as any car can access on payment of a fee. And there are many exemptions. In addition, the pilot area covers streets which are either already pedestrianised or mostly so. Nonetheless, even marginal reductions in pollution are an important signal that we need to tackle Oxford's appalling air quality."
