Strangest local elections in living memory, say the Greens

May 6th look set to be the strangest elections in living memory, say the Greens. Not only will they be conducted under Covid constraints but people in Oxford will be able to cast FOUR votes due to delayed City Council elections, City boundary changes, County Council elections and the election for a Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner all coinciding.
There is also a wider choice for electors that ever before including three estranged former Labour Councillors (Cllrs David Henwood, Saj Malik, Jamila Azad - all seeking re-election as independents to County and/or City), five other independents (including Cllr Mick Haines seeking re-election in Marston) many also seeking nomination to both City and/or County,  three Trade Union and Socialist Coalition candidates, three anti-lockdown Freedom Alliance candidate s (Rose Hill & Iffley City and Iffley Fields & St Mary's/Marston & Northway  County Divisions) and most controversially a candidate for the far right For Britain Movement (standing for both City and County in Northfield Brook Ward and Leys Division).
And that is without even considering the Police and Crime Commissioner candidates!
The Greens are hopeful of a big rise in support and enter the campaign in a buoyant mood.  Green Party candidates are standing in all Oxford County seats and 23 out of the 24 City Council Wards.
