Standing by the NHS for all those in need

Oxfordshire Green Party is supporting the Royal College of Midwives, UNITE, UNISION and the GMB in their industrial action on the 13th of October.

Medical organisations have written to the Government stressing that our NHS needs more funds. Picketing will take place 7am to 11am at the Osler Road and Headley Way entrances to the combined Oxford Childrens Hospital and John Radcliffe Hospital site. Councillor David Williams, Leader of the Green Group on Oxfordshire County Council comments:

"The reality of the NHS is that there has been chronic underfunding in the later years of the previous Government and under this one. The ageing population means that much more money must be provided to meet the growing needs. This strike is a symptom of the growing pressure on certain services within the NHS that simply cannot cope with the workload that they face."
