Oxfordshire Growth Board review

Please find the time to submit a response to the Oxfordshire Growth Board review - deadline 5pm on Tuesday 26 November: https://www.oxfordshiregrowthboard.org/oxfordshire-growth-board-review/

The Growth Board is a very influential organisation which is behind the Oxfordshire Plan 2050. This is all about housing and economic growth and is on course to result in the building of hundreds of thousands of new homes across Oxfordshire, completely out of step with housing needs.

"The Oxfordshire Growth Board focuses on strategic planning, economic development and sustainable growth.  It is made up of leaders from the county’s district councils, the city council and the county council, along with non-voting members from various partners in the county such as the NHS, Oxford Brookes and Oxford University, the Local Enterprise Partnership (OXLEP) and the Environment Agency.” (from OGB website)

We would strongly encourage as many individual responses from Green Party members and supporters, and that the key points that we would like to make are:

  1. Change mission and name from “Growth” to Sustainable Development
  2. Need for much greater transparency and democratic accountability - decisions are taken in private and are not being shared even with our local councillors.
