Government starter homes policy will mean fewer affordable homes for Oxford

Says Green City Councillor and shadow housing speaker Sam Hollick:

The City Council is speaking with one voice on this matter. Affordable housing is THE biggest issue in Oxford and recent Government policy changes will make this crisis even worse. As well as doing its utmost, within current constraints, to provide new social housing, the Council must also be prepared to revisit ideas that it has previously dismissed, such as looking at where new jobs are located, intensification of sites, prioritising homes over hotels, and promoting remote working to reduce the strain on our housing stock.
