About this Event:
From the unelected House of Lords to an archaic electoral system - we all know that our democracy is broken. Government remains in the hands of the few - and the people are shut out of the corridors of power.
Here in Oxford, proposals to abolish Oxford City Council and replace it with a single council spanning all of Oxfordshire are rearing their ugly head once again. These proposals would see Oxford ruled by the Tories - having not elected a single Tory councillor for years.
The question is - how do we fix all this?
