Colin Tudge, the Green Party candidate for the Chalgrove and Watlington by-election will be speaking at a public meeting, on:
How to bring down the real price of food by doing the precise opposite of what the government recommends.
Good for farmers and good for all of us.
He will then answer questions from voters.
He said:
Truly to put the world to rights we need to re-think from first principles. We need governance that is rooted in compassion and is of the people and for the people. We need an economy that uses standard financial mechanisms for the general good—the newly emerging principle of economic democracy. We also need to do as no other ruling party has ever done—to take the biosphere seriously. The environment cannot be seen merely as an add-on.
The disaster that ensues when we get the basics wrong is evident all around us—and especially in food and agriculture on which we all depend. But on all fronts the big three parties are leading us in the wrong directions. It seems that only the Greens take serious matters seriously.
