We hope you will join us at 12.00 at Marble Arch for our march to Trafalgar Square, where for the first time political leaders will form a progressive alliance to call on Westminster not to replace Trident nuclear warheads.
Join Compass and leaders from four progressive political parties to say no to the replacement of Trident:
- Jeremy Corbyn, Labour leader
- Nicola Sturgeon, SNP, First Minister of Scotland
- Caroline Lucas, Green Party MP
- Leanne Wood, Plaid Cymru, leader
Our argument is clear: Trident does not give us security from any of the real threats hitting our headlines today. It is not an effective deterrent against terrorism, cyber-attacks or against the biggest threat of all - climate change. Watch this video for more info.
Simply having nuclear weapons on our territory – being a member of the elitist nuclear club - makes us a target for the disaffected. We should be with the 107 nations currently signed up to the ‘humanitarian pledge’ and working to make nuclear weapons illegal.
It’s time to forge a more level playing field and create the strong transnational networks that give us the long-term security we need.

Will you help spread the word by sharing this video via social media?
- Please also share with your MP and ask them to vote against replacing Trident – lobbying your MP this way has proven the most effective action available.
Not replacing Trident would give our economy a £100 billion windfall over the next ten years. That money spent on conflict prevention and resolution and investing in society, economy and infrastructure gives us the internal security we need to get back to being a thriving country.
