Sushila has been a campaigner in Oxford for over 30 years, including serving as a Green for 9 years on Oxfordshire County and 5 years on Oxford City Council, and being the country's first County Green Group Leader. In the latter role she created the first ever Green County budget with Caroline Lucas, showing how Green policies can be underpinned by sound financial planning. Her main areas of action are human rights and greening transport.
Sushila says:
'I am standing because I am passionate about justice and equality for people and the need for urgent action to address climate change. I see that people have been robbed and divided by the Tory government. This has given me a drive to offer myself as a hard-working Green parliamentary candidate to represent the wonderfully diverse peoples of Oxford East.'
