Steve Dawe, candidate for Iffley Fields
Steve Dawe is a University lecturer teaching both Public Administration and International Development. He has degrees in Politics and International Relations. Steve has worked for the Green Party in a number of roles including as a Press Officer and for Caroline Lucas when she was a member of the European Parliament. Steve is married to Hazel, who is also standing in these elections, and they have three children between them. Outside party politics, Steve was chair of a combined Community Association and Neighbourhood Watch for 7 years and Chair of a coalition of environmental, residents and parish councils for 5 years, amongst many other community roles.
If elected, Steve will aim to make an impact on the City Council’s housing, planning, transport and energy policies in particular. Empty homes and sites must be put into use; open spaces and greenfield sites must be preserved inside and outside the city; sustainable policies must be followed consistently in planning, transport and energy policies to ensure effective use of council staff and funds. Steve will continue the community work he is already engaged in with the Donnington Tenants’ and Residents’ Association, the Iffley Fields Residents Association and the Oxfordshire Climate and Flooding Alliance.
