Rosie Pearson
Green Party Candidate for Witney West & Ducklington – Oxfordshire County Council Election 2025
“A kinder, fairer, greener future is possible — and I believe in building it, right here in West Oxfordshire.”
A Voice Rooted in the Community
Rosie Pearson has lived in West Oxfordshire for over 25 years and has served as District Councillor for Brize Norton & Shilton since 2022. She brings deep local knowledge, integrity, and imagination to everything she does — always standing up for people and planet.
She lives at Asthall Manor, near Burford, where she is restoring biodiversity to the floodplain, woodland and garden — and where she previously ran the much-loved on form sculpture exhibition, bringing national acclaim and visitors to the area for many years.
Rosie is an active voice in the community: practical, collaborative and not afraid to challenge the status quo when it doesn’t serve local people.
Experience that Matters
Rosie has a wide-ranging professional background — she’s worked in journalism, education, philanthropy, PR and the arts. Across every role she’s taken on, she’s been driven by a passion for fairness, creativity, and making a difference.
As a Green councillor, Rosie has already delivered on environmental priorities, spoken up against inappropriate development, and championed local voices in planning decisions.
Now, she’s standing to represent Witney West and Ducklington at County level — to push for better transport, fairer development, thriving public services, and bold climate leadership.
A Vision for a Better Future
An optimist by nature, Rosie believes that people are capable of finding a more generous and harmonious way to live on the earth than what is currently considered ‘normal’. She’s inspired by a future that’s not only cleaner and fairer — but also happier, less stressful, and more fun.
🌳 Protecting Nature and Green Spaces
She’ll fight to defend the character of West Oxfordshire’s villages and landscapes from overdevelopment, and push for better land use, nature recovery, and biodiversity gains.
🚲 Championing Sustainable Transport
From safer cycling and walking routes to restoring local bus services, Rosie will push for transport options that work for rural and small-town communities — not just cities.
🏥 Backing Stronger Public Services
She’ll support better funding for schools, social care, and local health services — and challenge cuts that hurt the most vulnerable.
🏘 Standing Up for Truly Affordable Housing
Rosie believes development must meet real local needs — not just developer targets. That means homes people can actually afford, in places where infrastructure already exists.
🌍 Taking Climate Action Seriously
As a Green, Rosie will never stop pushing for local climate action — from renewables and energy-saving upgrades to community climate resilience planning.
A Trusted, Independent Voice
Rosie brings calm, clarity and commitment to council work. She’s not tied to party politics as usual — she listens to residents, asks the right questions, and speaks with purpose.
