Oxford Greens are campaigning in the Oxfordshire County Council elections to elect councillors who will:
Make transport more accessible, sustainable and efficient
- Introduce traffic calming measures on Morrell Avenue, including with speed cameras.
- Deliver effective walking and cycling infrastructure so people can get around safely and quickly.
- Support measures to make our buses more efficient, including the introduction of traffic filters.
- Campaign to bring buses into public control and support the Cowley Branch Line.
Stand up for Oxford's diverse communities
- Ensure that Oxford is doing everything it can to resettle refugees and welcome them to our city.
- Push local MPs to end UK complicity in human rights abuses across the world, such as in Gaza or Yemen.
- Campaign to stop changes to asylum law which would prevent many refugees from getting British citizenship.
- Take a stand against discrimination and support the full diversity of beliefs and backgrounds in Oxford.
Tackle the cost of living and deliver public services
- Invest substantially in community owned renewable energy and home insulation to cut carbon and bills.
- Provide more support for people who are vulnerable, including through the creation of new hardship funds.
- Campaign to get NHS and care services back on their feet by ending outsourcing and privatisation.
- Work to improve education provision across the County, including SEND.
