In the last 5 years, we have grown from a party with two councillors to 24 district and county councillors. To build on this success, we need to improve our technology - our web sites, our volunteer management and our canvassing systems. This will enable us to work effectively in each district and to prepare across the county for the next General Election and the 2025 elections to Oxfordshire County Council (on new division boundaries being consulted on right now).
If you would like to help, come along to to this online hackathon to join a team to work on one of the following:
- A new web site for Green Parties in Oxfordshire (replacing this one).
- Preparing voter data for the new Green Party canvassing system, ready for the May 2024 elections.
- Moving our data on members and volunteers from NationBuilder to Action Network.
- Preparing for the county council elections, starting with creating a response with maps to the current consultation on Oxfordshire County Council division boundaries.
This hackathon will be run online, using Zoom, breakout rooms, and other tools to collaborate with other volunteers in your team.

There is more information on the tech volunteer page. Think about the tasks that interest you and how you can help. We need teams with a range of skills. You don't all need to be experts. Everyone can help. It could be a simple as typing in data from a marked register of who voted in 2022 to advising on web design, data management or computer mapping.
I will also be answering questions on Zoom each Wedneday at 1 p.m. or 8 p.m., starting this Wednesday 11 October with preparing for the county council election map and the new canvassing system at 1 p.m. and web sites and Action Network at 8 p.m.
