Report: Zero-Sum Game of Economic Migration in Europe
Our discussion meeting on the EU decision held on 25th June raised the prospect of new local party initiatives on international issues. Options included an 'Oxford for Europe' group, an International Policy Working group to deal with all international aspects of the local parties work including relations with ethnic minorities and their representative associations, and also work specifically with refugees and others whose status may be at risk due to the Leave decision.
To clarify these options into a plan of action, an informal final meeting of the European Campaign Committee of Oxfordshire Green Party, open to all Green Party members in the County, will be held.
Who should attend? Green Party members who have been actively involved in the European campaign/other members with interests in improving our engagement with ethnic minority communities in Oxfordshire, including members already working with refugees/those with human rights interests since a Brexit government may seek to remove the UK from the European Convention on Human Rights.
The emphasis of the gathering will be on what it is practical to do, with the overall discipline that ideas should be about helping the Party grow in membership and representation.
