Dear Members
It’s time to start drafting the Oxford City Manifesto for 2016 and you are warmly invited to participate.
The first meeting is on Saturday 31 October, 10am – 3pm. Florence Park Community Centre Lounge (note that there will be another event in the main hall).
We have scheduled a follow up meeting on 21 November 2015, also at Florence Park Community Centre Lounge from 10am-3pm.
Please bring your own lunch and drinks, along with your own printed copy of the agenda and the 2014 Manifesto for reference.
We will be going through submissions received to vote on any policy amendments; after that we will decide what should go into the manifesto.
For those who are new to the Party, the manifesto helps set out the Party’s agenda for the upcoming election: ‘A manifesto is a public declaration of the ideas and policies of a political party. It is usually published during the campaign before a general election and contains a description of what the party will do if it wins the election and becomes the Government’ (http://www.parliament.uk/site-information/glossary/manifesto/).
The current headings for each manifesto declaration are:
Planning for a sustainable future
Appendix: Energy cooperatives for Oxford
Vote Green for the Common Good
If you have any suggestions for the 2016 manifesto please forward them to OGP Secretary, Cari Morningstar.
Please get in touch with Alison Williams if you have any questions or comments.
