Oxford City Greens' Homelessness Petition Launch

What are you doing this Thursday, 16th Feb? Can you spare a few minutes? Please join County candidates, Councillors and Green Party Co-Leader Jonathan Bartley in Oxford to launch Oxford City Greens' homelessness petition.

The plan for the day is:

12pm to 2pm – Street stall on Cornmarket launching our homelessness petition; Jonathan will join us at 1pm
2:30pm to 4pm – Homelessness petition street stall on Cowley Road
4:30pm to 5:30pm – Visit to Iffley Open House homelessness squat, Iffley Road
7pm – Oxford University Students meeting, Oriel College (see: https://www.facebook.com/events/1081250598653305/)

The petition demands that Oxford City Council urgently spend some of its ~£900,000 homelessness fund to help people now. Labour have a history of refusing to spend this reserve despite Green pressure - they claim they have to hold it back for an emergency! With the number of rough sleepers in Oxford on the rise and the overwhelming public support for the Iffley Open House squat, now is the time for the council to help people who are most desperate in these cold times.

Please help us!
