Oxford City Council has released its annual Workforce Equality Report which includes the organisation’s gender pay gap, and, for the first time, its ethnicity pay gap.
Commenting on the release, Green City Councillor Craig Simmons said, "This report is a welcome update. Clearly, things are heading slowly in the right direction but progress is painfully slow and, in the case of BAME representation, not keeping pace with changing demographics. BAME representation in the City has increased since the last census (in 2011) so benchmarking performance against this historical figure (18.7%) is misleading. In reality, we have a widening gap with growing under-representation of BAME."
