Overwhelming support for Low Traffic Neighbourhood in St Mary's Ward

St_Mary's_LTN_-_Magdalen_Rd_2.jpgSurvey shows overwhelming support for Low Traffic Neighbourhood in St Mary's Ward, but the devil is in the detail.
A public engagement exercise conducted by a group of campaigners led by Green Councillor Dick Wolff, Chris Jarvis and Rosie Rawle has now delivered over 12,000 flyers to local residents and run more than 10 online meetings, interviewed businesses, conducted traffic counts and conducted an online survey.

Of those who completed the (optional) survey, 74% liked (column 4) or liked a lot (column 5) the initial proposals with a further 14% neither liking or disliking them. About 12% either didn't like them (column 2) or didn't liked them a lot (column 1).

But there were also more than 120 suggestions for tweaks and improvements which the Greens are using to further enhance the initial design.

Says Green Councillor Dick Wolff, "We have done our best to reach out to residents in the area with multiple leaflet drops and a series of online meetings. We will continue to engage and listen but the initial feedback is very positive. What is also clear from the responses we have received in that the devil is in the detail."
