West Oxfordshire Greens flying the flag in Witney
5 October 2012
On Saturday 29 September the West Oxfordshire Green Party held a stall from 10am to 1pm in Market Square, Witney, just outside the entrance to the Woolgate Shopping Centre. The aim was to publicise the fact that Greens are constantly active in the district, not just at election times, and to make people aware of the Green alternative in politics. A leaflet headed “Why vote Green in West Oxfordshire?” had been prepared for the occasion, and was offered to the crowds of Saturday morning shoppers along with other literature supplied by the Oxford branch. We were pleased with the number of people who accepted the leaflets, and some even stopped to talk about issues. Children were attracted by the stickers, pens and windmills that we had available free. We hope to repeat the event on a regular basis from now on, and will use it as a means of distributing the newsletter that we are soon to launch.
