Stop the bedroom tax
12 March 2013
On Saturday 16th March, Oxford Greens will be joining the demonstration against the bedroom tax in Bonn Square at 1pm, as part of the National Day of Action against the coming changes to housing benefit.
Under the proposed changes, 872 households in Oxford are expected to lose out as the government is cutting housing benefit to people judged to have 'spare' bedrooms. The new rules will mean that children of 4 and 14 could be expected to share and that families with foster children, adults with disabilities and even separated parents whose kids only visit at weekends will be unfairly hit by benefit cuts of up to 25%.
Join us and local campaigners on Saturday, as we tell the government "no more".
