WE CAN'T STAND IDLY BY

Local campaigners against the controversial NHS Bill have occupied Jubilee House on John Smith Way, the Headquarters of the local PCT Commissioning Group.

Green County Councillor Larry Sanders is one of approximately 20 people currently occupying a meeting room in the building.

Larry, a longstanding campaigner against health service and social care cuts, says "It horrifies me that the multi nationals that have destroyed the American health service are being invited to make large profits from the NHS. This is the final hit on an NHS that has suffered from creeping privatisation under consecutive governments over many years."

The campaigners, all local residents, have occupied the building in advance of a public demonstration against the Health and Social Care Bill, being held outside the PCT building at 5pm today.
