Every year, we in Oxford fight in elections; each city ward has two councillors, one of which is elected in every two year period. Interspersed are the county elections along the same lines.
This means that, unlike the majority of UK, our region is constantly on election footing, which drains our physical and mental resources by May. And then we have to prepare for another election 12 months later. We can cope... but only just. The Greens currently hold 6 seats, and we want to increase that by three in May.
This year, we have instituted an annual ‘MAD in Oxford’ – March Action Days (26/27th) in Oxford. And YOU can help.
Come down, spend the weekend in Oxford helping our target wards in a variety of activities such as canvassing, leafleting, sending out 60 second surveys. But it is not all work – we have organised punting, plays, a quiz, and even an Easter Egg hunt!
