I live in the village of Rotherfield Greys with my husband and two sons, and I love this place and its wonderful communities. I trained as a lawyer and have worked as a financial journalist and editor, and in 2019, I was elected to South Oxfordshire District Council to represent the Woodcote and Rotherfield Ward. For the past five years, I have been a hard-working and dedicated councillor, standing up for residents, and our beautiful local area.
As a river swimmer, member of the Henley Mermaids swim team and the district’s River Thames Champion, I have led the fight against sewage pollution from the start. In 2020, I worked with the district council, Thames21 and Wallingford Town Council to kick-start the process of applying for Bathing Water Status for Wallingford. I successfully worked to get Thames Water to release real-time sewage alerts ahead of schedule. I am passionate about conserving the Chilterns and have led the council’s efforts to protect dark skies.
I have pushed for action on dangerous speeding on our local roads and made sure that all council staff, including those who work for outsourcing contractors, are paid at least the Real Living Wage.
I was elected Chair of the Council in 2021, I am a trustee of the Henley Municipal Charities and am back at university – studying counselling part-time at the University of Oxford.
It is a privilege to serve my local community and to stand up for what matters.
Jo Robb is the best candidate for Henley and Thame.
