Unfortunately, no-one has signed up for this training session, so I have had to cancel it.
There will be webinars from next week. Check later on this calendar for details.
If you want to take part in a webinar, please download Fuze Meeting from fuzebox.com, and test your microphone in the Fuze Meeting test conference. Larger sessions will use Google Hangouts, so make sure you are registered on Google Plus.
Learn how to campaign effectively, engaging activists, and raise donations using NationBuilder software.
We need to get thousands of people to sign up to support the Green Party for the European elections on 22 May 2014, and hundreds to help us campaign in the local elections in Oxford, Banbury and Witney. So we have set up two web sites to engage supporters: www.greenoxfordshire.com for Oxfordshire, and www.segreens.com for the whole of Southeast England. We need a large team of volunteers to help us use these sites to bring in new supporters, voters and donations.
NationBuilder is the software behind these sites. It makes it easy to:
- Send out messages by e-mail, Twitter and Facebook.
- Engage with the people who respond.
- Get them to sign up on the site
(the SNP got 50,000 e-mail sign ups in 90 days in 2011). - Organise volunteers.
- Collect donations.
(we raised over £4000 in the first 3 days of an appeal on segreens.com). - Manage canvassing.
- Publish news and sell tickets to events like this one.
I am David Newman, the elections co-ordinator for the Oxfordshire Green Party. I have been using NationBuilder for over a year in Oxfordshire, and am part of the team that set up segreens.com. I am offering this hands-on training course for Green Party people in Oxfordshire and SE England willing to help in the 2014 campaigns. Later I will follow it up with webinars on how to use particular features.
This is a hands-on session, including introductions to:
- Using NationBuilder to manage social media engagement.
- Designing interactive web pages to force responses to calls to action.
- Blogs and calendars.
- Managing people: volunteers, members and voters through the built-in contact database.
- E-mail blasts and donations.
As computer suites don't come free, we have to sell tickets to recoup the costs. If you cannot afford a ticket, but are willing to donate more time to our online campaign, e-mail me to get a free place.
