Greens celebrate at 2015 Green Gathering

Greens from across Oxfordshire met in Banbury on Saturday 19th September, to celebrate the hard work and dedication of those members and supporters who go the extra mile to spread the Green message and help the party to succeed locally.

Benali Hamdache, national party spokesman on Equality and Diversity, together with our Treasurer Hazel Dawe, presented the awards. The winners were as follows:

Most improved campaigner: Alex Friend.

Most improved leafletting effort: Cheryl Briggs.

Outstanding contribution: Sarah Wood; Mary Franklin and Bob Cowley and Linda Losito.

Most long-suffering supporter: David Lawton.

Innovation: Sam Hollick.

Working together: North Oxfordshire Greens.

Lifetime contribution: Elise Benjamin and Craig Simmons; John Haywood and Alison and David Williams.

The winners received a certificate and small gift of a plant. Ian Middleton also accepted a coveted Green Party mug on behalf of all of our candidates over the year who we felt deserved a special mention too.

After a delicious, home-cooked lunch, kindly provided by the North Oxfordshire Greens, we enjoyed workshops on the European Union; Equality and Diversity and Canvassing.

It was a lovely day and a great opportunity to meet Greens from across the County. Thanks to Hazel for organising the event; to North Oxfordshire Greens for hosting and keeping us fed and watered, and especially to all of our supporters for the vital work you do!
