The Green Party of England and Wales is hosting 'Greens 2017' the first ever joint congress between the Global Greens and the European Green Party from Thursday 30 March to Sunday 2 April 2017 at the ACC in Liverpool. The event will also incorporate our Spring Conference (Friday 31 March - Sunday 2 April) and the Global Young Greens Congress.
Up to 90 different nations will be represented, including Green Parties from countries as diverse as Monglia, Uganda and Bolivia. And with a predicted attendance of over 2,000, this will probably be the largest gathering of Greens ever!
Registering for our conference will also give you access to the joint Congress. As most Congress sessions will be open to members of all parties, we are encouraging GPEW members to attend from Thursday if possible. There is no extra cost for this day. This is a truly historic opportunity to meet and learn from members of Green Parties all over the world!
Booking
You can book online here. There is no Early Bird deadline this time, but we could encourage you to book before 15 January to guarantee your place as demand will be high.
For anyone unable to cover the costs of attendance themselves there is also a limited access fund. Non-members are also very welcome to attend.
Timetable
The Congress will open on Thursday 30 March with an opening ceremony celebrating the strength and diversity of our Global Green family and with a keynote speaker (Alexander van der Bellen invited). Over the four days of the event, there will be a full programme of co-organised fringes and training alongside each partner's voting sessions/plenaries, including joint panels on the subjects of: From Paris to 1.5?, Empowering people over profit, Green political democracy from grassroots to government.
The vast majority of sessions are open to members of any party, and indeed to supporters. And if you have a burning issue that you wish to discuss but without the formality of organising a session, then you can bring this to the facilitiated Open Spaces sessions that will be running throughout the four days. No pre-booking or planning required.
There will be entertainment each evening including music from Seize the Day and the Fab Beatles, film screenings and more, as well as the opportunity to sign up for walking tours and boat trips to make the most out of your visit to Liverpool. The large dining area will be the hub for each evening's activities and will provide a great opportunity to mingle with fellow Greens from all over the globe.

Agenda
A motion was passed at Autumn Conference 2016 which has changed the policy process and the agenda deadlines for conferences. The new agenda timetable for Spring Conference is on the website (Pre-Agenda deadline 12 January).

Accommodation
To secure good advance prices we have booked and pre-paid for rooms at three Premier Inns,all within walking distance of the venue. Rooms are double or twin and are £65 or £70 (room only) per night plus a booking fee, depending on which property you choose. We have also block booked the nearby YHA as a good budget option.

Creche
Children between the ages of 1 and 11 are welcome to join the Conference Creche, which is run by fully qualified, DBS checked staff. And all absolutely free of charge to Green Party members who are attending the Conference!
