Says Green City Councillor Craig Simmons, "This is an extremely ecologically sensitive site and whilst the plans to leave Memorial Field undeveloped are welcome, it is difficult to see how the sorts of homes that the City housing company has been building to date, and the plans for an access road, are compatible with the need to protect biodiversity on the site. Nor is it clear how the adjoining cycle and pedestrian route will retain its quietways status."
