Flying the rainbow flag

Green campaigner, Dr Hazel Dawe, would like to thank Oxford City Council for agreeing to fly the rainbow flag in protest at Russia’s anti gay laws.

The flag flying protest started in Canada where many towns have flown the rainbow flag for the full duration of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in Russia. Hazel would also like to thank Peter Tatchell for his support for her request to Oxford City Council.

Dr Hazel Dawe says: Flying the rainbow flag is a symbol of solidarity with the LGBT community. Nobody deserves to be discriminated against for their sexuality. This is a natural extension of Oxford’s support for Gay Pride events.”
