Electronic canvassing and social media training

Main training course further postponed, due to lack of RSVPs. I will be running an introduction to NationBuilder at my flat at the original time, and will follow up later with a hands-on session when there are a dozen people willing to attend.

Oxfordshire Green Party members and campaigners in the North by-election are invited to a training session on using software for canvassing and social media campaigning.

The first hour is on electronic canvassing: how to create a walk list, and how to enter the canvassing data in Nationbuilder; how to enter bulk voter data into spreadsheets to be uploaded to NationBuilder. This is the way we will be canvassing in May.

The second hour includes a brief introduction to the uses of social media in campaigning, but concentrates on how to track and follow up contacts in NationBuilder. In 2011, the SNP used NationBuilder to collect an e-mail list of 50,000 voters in 90 days.

It will take place in the IT suite of Northway Community Centre, on the Northway estate, between the Marston Road and the northern by-pass (A40).
