Donate for General Election 2024
Suddenly, we are fighting another General Election in 2024. We got 7 Green councillors elected in May. We represent 31 wards and divisions in the county and are in administration in 4 councils. Let us turn our local successes into a higher vote in the General Election. Show that we are one of the big 4.
We have to quickly launch our Green Party general election campaign in Oxfordshire. We have 7 candidates standing in the 7 new Oxfordshire constituencies.
- Arron Baker in Banbury
- Ian Middleton in Bicester and Woodstock
- Sam Casey-Rerhaye in Didcot and Wantage
- Jo Robb in Henley and Thame
- Sushila Dhall in Oxford East
- Chris Goodall in Oxford West and Abingdon
- Andrew Prosser in Witney
This is a short campaign with urgent deadlines. We already have to spend £7000 to pay for printing election leaflets that the Royal Mail will deliver to all voters in 7 Oxfordshire constituencies and £3500 on the deposits for 7 candidates to stand for Parliament.
That is just the start! To mount an effective campaign we need volunteers and money. Please give whatever you can afford:
- £10 will print 500 posters for a town.
- £25 pays for a Facebook advertisement.
- £120 pays for 6000 leaflets to get Green supporters to vote,
- £250 will pay for an advertisement in the Oxford Mail.
- £500 covers the deposit for one candidate.
- £850 will pay for a leaflet delivered by Freepost to every household in a constituency.
Nationally, Greens are working flat out to ensure that we send MPs to Westminster from our four national targets. That is where your donations to the national party go. But every constituency and every vote for a Green matters. Why? Because every vote that we gain in any constituency translates into roughly £1 of “short money” – the government funds for opposition political parties that are allocated to run their parliamentary offices. And we can turn this year's green votes into support to elect more county councillors next year.
Donate to our fighting fund now.
Give a little, or give a lot, whatever you can afford. Thank you.
