Daniel Eisenhandler
Green Party Candidate for Bampton and Carterton South
π Meet Daniel
Daniel Eisenhandler brings energy, compassion and real-world experience to his campaign to represent Bampton & Carterton South on Oxfordshire County Council.
With a degree in Health and Social Care, Daniel has been inspired by social thinkers like Sir Michael Marmot, whose work shows how a more equal society benefits everyone β including those at the top. He believes that when we put fairness, connection and wellbeing first, we all thrive.
Daniel lives these values every day in his work as a support worker at a day centre for adults with learning disabilities. His secret weapon? A guitar β which he uses to make up songs and bring joy to the people he works with.
π― Danielβs Priorities
Tackling Loneliness and Social Isolation
Even in an area known for being healthy and relatively affluent, many people β especially older residents β experience deep loneliness and very little human contact day to day. Daniel has researched the local data and wants to help change that.
As your councillor, he would push for:
- Regular home visits for isolated residents
- Inclusive events that bring people together across ages
- Better support for local community groups and carers
Housing That Works for Local People
Daniel is concerned about the growing number of expensive, unaffordable homes being built across West Oxfordshire β homes that many local people, especially younger residents, simply cannot afford.
He will:
- Speak out for truly affordable homes in the right places
- Push for infrastructure to keep up with development β including drainage, roads and schools
- Oppose development that damages communities or creates more traffic and strain on local services
Fixing Broken Transport Systems
Public transport in our rural areas is patchy, unreliable, or non-existent. That needs to change.
Daniel believes:
- It should not fall to local communities to run their own bus services β thatβs a sign of a broken system
- The County Council must invest in affordable, joined-up transport β from better buses to safer walking and cycling
- Car-sharing schemes and fun community campaigns could help us reduce traffic and emissions, especially in places like Long Hanborough
The pressure on Long Hanborough railway station is just one example of how poor transport planning can damage local life. Daniel wants to see a proper county-wide transport strategy that connects our villages and supports the local economy.
Backing Small Businesses β the Right Way
Rather than one-off grants and piecemeal support, Daniel wants to help build a resilient local economy. That means:
- Supporting local businesses with better infrastructure
- Creating vibrant, well-connected towns and villages where small businesses can thrive
- Making public transport a real option β to help local workers and customers get around without a car
π± Why Vote Green?
Daniel stands for:
- Fairness β tackling inequality and social isolation
- Sustainability β protecting our countryside and reducing car-dependence
- Community β stronger local services and better connection between people
He believes in doing politics differently β with care, creativity, and real action that puts people first.
π³ On Thursday 1st May, vote for Daniel Eisenhandler in Bampton & Carterton South β for a fairer, greener, more connected West Oxfordshire.
