Said Green Candidate Hazel Dawe,
I am delighted that, after an excellent, hard-working campaign, the Greens have firmly established themselves as the challenger to Labour in Cowley.
Labour (who saw a drop in their vote since May) also need to take note that a clear majority of voters aren't happy with Labour's policies in the area such as the closure of Temple Cowley Pool.
Results
Labour | 512 | 39% |
Green (Dawe) | 269 | 21% |
Artwell | 257 | 20% |
Conservative | 152 | 12% |
UKIP | 72 | 6% |
Lib. Dems. | 39 | 3% |
The turnout was 28%, the total vote was 1317.
A big thank you to all the supporters who knocked on doors for weeks, talking to voters, and those who delivered leaflets, including on our big days out.
There will be more elections in the coming year, so if you want to help, volunteer or donate to our campaigns.
