Recruiting a County Campaign Organiser

Oxfordshire Green Party is seeking a Campaign Organiser to help run our campaign for the May 2021 elections to Oxfordshire County Council. The party is targeting more seats across Oxfordshire than ever before, and we have been given funding by the Green Party of England and Wales to contract a part-time organiser to help maximise the chances of success.

We are looking for an organised, self-motivated individual who has experience in political campaigning and volunteer coordination, and a desire to make a difference.

Working with the existing Campaign Manager, the role will involve providing overall coordination of the campaign, supporting the work of the Campaign Manager, and helping provide the support necessary to ensure our nine target candidates stand the best chance of winning. In particular, the post-holder will be responsible for mobilising and coordinating volunteer activity, as well as using our NationBuilder database system.

We are hoping that the successful candidate will be available to start as soon as possible, with the role continuing until polling day on 6 May 2021. The funding for the position is fixed, and will allow for, on average, between two and two and half days work a week (a total of 320 hours during the campaign). There will be scope to vary the time spent each week depending on demand and availability.

Membership of the Green Party of England and Wales (GPEW) is not essential, but applicants cannot be member of another political party that competes with GPEW.

Payment:

£3615 for the contract. The post is offered on the basis of a contractor providing services to the Green Party of England and Wales.

Location:

Remote working, with travel to target areas in Oxfordshire as required and as Covid conditions allow.

Your first point of contact will be the Campaign Manager, and you will also be supported by the Elections Coordinator and the Elections Committee of Oxfordshire Green Party.
