Council outlines next steps for Zero Carbon Oxford Partnership

Says Green Councillor Dick Wolff, "This revival and re-branding of the Low Carbon Oxford Partnership is welcome but we need action - not more words. Oxford City Council, who claim to be offering leadership are themselves behind the curve. For example, according to the quoted Anthesis report, all new properties need to be zero carbon and there needs to be a step change in investment in local renewables.

"Yet, the Council only last year passed a Local Plan which falls well short on delivering zero carbon buildings, their own housing company is not delivering zero carbon homes, and they recently voted down a budget amendment that would have delivered 70MW of new solar generating capacity - bring them close to the 2025 target given in the Anthesis report."
