Claire Lasko has lived in Chipping Norton for 17 years and in Oxfordshire for over 35. She’s an award-winning documentary filmmaker, known for powerful work on current affairs, education and the built environment.
Claire has always cared deeply about justice, community, and how society works. Through her films, she’s told important stories and challenged people to think differently. Now, she’s stepping up to help shape the future of Chipping Norton by standing as your Green Party candidate for Oxfordshire County Council.
🌿 A Political Journey Rooted in Hope
Claire was a lifelong Labour supporter — until the Brexit campaign exposed the cracks in traditional politics. Disillusioned by outdated thinking, she began looking for a party that reflected her values: fairness, sustainability, equality and compassion.
She found that in the Green Party.
Claire stood as the Green Party’s parliamentary candidate for the Witney constituency in 2017, and has been a committed local party member ever since — even while working internationally, including a recent period in Berlin.
Now back in Chipping Norton full-time, Claire is ready to bring her clarity, creativity and courage to County Hall.
