You're invited to a public meeting with Keith Taylor, Green MEP for South East England, to discuss the implications of Brexit for you and the local community, and the role of the European Parliament in the negotiations.
Keith will share his insights on the most recent developments in the Brexit negotiations, listen to the questions and concerns of the people of Oxford and will discuss the ‘Green Guarantees’ that he is actively campaigning for.
This event is FREE to attend but places are limited so please register your interest by clicking here.
Keith passionately campaigned for a Remain vote in the EU referendum, and felt a profound sense of disappointment at the result. Across the South East region, more than 48% of people voted to Remain.
And with 70% of the local population voting remain in the referendum, Oxford citizens were overwhelmingly in favour of staying in Europe. Oxford is an international city. It has a proud history of welcoming Europeans to visit, work and study - in a post-Brexit future, these cultural ties should not be severed.
Now, almost two years later, Keith remains convinced that the best way to serve our economy, our environment and our communities is to tackle the collective challenges we face together with our European friends and neighbours. With its strong links to and proud community of Europeans, now, more than ever it is important that Oxford stands united in the face of an uncertain future.
Until the negotiations are concluded and the UK formally leaves the EU, all UK MEPs, including Keith, will remain full members of the European Parliament, where, as always, he remains committed to representing the people of Oxford, working for a better, fairer Europe and securing the best deal for his constituents. Leaving the EU is not inevitable and the fight against Theresa May’s extreme Brexit is far from over.
