ANOTHER GREEN WIN FOR KIDLINGTON
Congratulations to Linda Ward
.
The election for Kidlington Parish Council - St Mary's Ward was yesterday 15th December.
Central to the election was the fight to protect the future of the green belt between Oxford and Kidlington, with the two candidates campaigning over the proposed future location of the Oxford United Football Club Stadium.
The people of St Mary’s voted overwhelmingly to protect their green belt by voting for the Green Party candidate Linda Ward.
The results were:
- Linda Ward 317 votes (62%)
- Nigel Simpson 197 votes (38%)
Linda is chair of Kidlington Development Watch, secretary of the Cherwell Development Watch Alliance and a member of CPRE’s Cherwell District Committee and is committed to listening to the parish’s concerns about the possibility of a massive stadium being built at the entrance to the village.
She is looking forward to being able to serve the Parish Council on a wide range of local issues.
