Vote for Alex Powell to represent Hinksey Park in the by-election on 29 September 2022.
Alex is a Lecturer in Law at Oxford Brookes University and an Oxford resident. Oxford is a great city, but it also faces some fundamental and interconnected challenges. Firstly, the city faces increasing inequalities which are being compounded by the cost of living crisis. If elected, Alex would work with other Green councillors to pressure the Labour administration into doing more to help those struggling with the cost of living. Simultaneously, the city is facing the loss of crucial green spaces such as Iffley Horse Fields and Bertie Park. Greens recognise the importance of Green spaces to both the health of our environment and those of us who live in it. It is only by electing Greens that we can meet these challenges and show the crucial links between environmental justice and social justice. Alongside being in the Greens, Alex is active in his trade union at Oxford Brookes University and plays a role in various refugee and asylum organisations.
