"Greens call on Oxford City Council to declare a climate emergency to get the City on-track for a low carbon future."

Green Cllrs Craig Simmons and Dick Wolff are tabling a motion on Monday 28th January calling on the City Council to declare a climate emergency.  

"Scientists are telling us we have just 12 years to avert a climate catastrophe. Councils everywhere must play their part - we want Oxford to join the growing number of local authorities who are declaring a climate emergency. In practical terms, this means getting the Council's own house in order as well as working with others to reduce the City's use of fossil fuels, " said Cllr Simmons.
