Voters across Oxfordshire elected another 8 Green Party councillors last week, bringing the total number of Green seats held on district and county councils to 27. The Conservatives have lost control of their last council in Oxfordshire.

This year there were no elections in Oxford or the county council, but there were all out elections in South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse, defending our Green gains in 2019. One third of the councillors in Cherwell and West Oxfordshire were also up for election.
All our defending councillors were re-elected. Several increased their majorities. Robin Bennett got 80% of the vote in Berinsfield. Ian Middleton increased his lead in Kidlington East to get 57% of the vote. And Jo Robb not only got re-elected but brought in her running mate James Norman to serve Woodcote and Rotherfield.
We won seats we had never won before, in Watchfield and Shrivenham, Hendreds, Chinnor and Bicester. Our new councillors are:
