    I have lived in Deddington ward all my life. If elected, i would

    plan to fight to swing the balance of power away from large developers and towards council housing and smaller developers who build in consultation with existing residents. I would also fight for new developments to be carbon neutral and fully insulated where achievable, and use all tools at the council’s disposal to deal with the climate emergency on a local level.

    Thomas has lived all over Oxford for 8 years and loves this city. I care about helping homeless individuals and having Oxford lead the way on the climate emergency.

    I’ve lived in Oxford for 12 years and think it’s a great city: my wife and I work here, my children go to school here. I’m passionate about the environment and want our city council to do more to counter the effects of the climate emergency. I’m standing in Churchill Ward so that others who feel the same can use their vote to express their desire for positive change.

    I’ve spent the last 40 years fighting climate change impacts in Eastern Africa. Now in Oxford if elected, I will continue by advocating for :

    better training opportunities for young people in real skills for real jobs that make a difference by promoting biodiversity in our city ;

    By reducing energy costs and making our homes warmer in winter and by;

    Promoting better transport systems that reduce congestion, air and noise pollution.

    An active member of Oxfordshire Green Party for over 10 years, Kate is passionate about building local communities through investing in community centres, community allotments, sports amenities, parks and green spaces; encouraging active travel and recycling. Kate’s children go to New Marston Primary school, where she has helped with the school library and gardening club. Kate is Chair of Marston Community Gardening, which runs projects to plant 100s of trees, sow wild meadows for biodiversity and develop community allotments for local food growing. Kate has lived in Oxford for 14 years, has been a secondary school teacher and currently works for Oxfordshire Libraries as a librarian.

    Alex is a Lecturer in Law at Oxford Brookes University and an Oxford resident. Oxford is a great city, but it also faces some fundamental and interconnected challenges. Firstly, the city faces increasing inequality and a rapidly rising cost of living. Simultaneously, the city is facing the loss of crucial green spaces such as Iffley Fields. It is only by electing Greens that we can meet these challenges and show the crucial links between environmental justice and social justice. Alongside being in the Greens, Alex is active in his trade union at Oxford Brookes and plays an active role in various refugee and asylum support charities.

    Stephen Hurt has lived and worked in Oxford for almost two decades. Oxford is an open and welcoming city but it is also facing increasing inequality. The pandemic has revealed how we need to put people and the planet at the centre of our politics. It is only by electing more Greens that this will be possible. Stephen teaches Politics and International Relations at Oxford Brookes University and is an active member of his trade union branch and the local Trades Council. Outside of work he volunteers as a youth cricket coach at a local club.

    I have lived in Headington for 30 years working for the NHS. I enjoy gardening, conservation work and folk dance.

    I am extremely concerned about the climate emergency. I am standing to give voters in Headington an opportunity to vote Green.

    Hi, I’m a long time member and have stood in this ward for a number of years. This is only the second time l have actively campaigned and l came close to winning a seat last time. l care passionately about nature and the environment and am extremely concerned about Climate Change. For the last 4 years, l have been on the Parish Council and have instigated various climate initiatives, including a Climate summit. l also co run Marston Community Gardening which aims to plant trees, grow food and build community. l also founded Low Carbon Marston. If elected, l would campaign vigorously for better, safer, segregated cycling infrastructure, better lighting, more street trees, better healthcare and food facilities and look into why so many houses are currently empty and unoccupied when affordable housing in this city is so hard to find! You can contact me on [email protected] or 07804847285, thanks xx

    I have lived in Banbury for 7 years. I am looking to vastly reduce the constant unsympathetic development that is destroying our green spaces whilst polluting our air and damaging and crowding our roads with traffic, and diluting the local services for existing residents.

    I’ve lived in Oxford for re years and have been a member of the Green Party since 1981. I now live on Osney Island and I work in the Bodleian Library7. Oxford needs more affordable housing for local workers. We need to maintain a good bus service and promote safe cycling. The city badly needs more accessible public toilets, especially for women and children.
