Picketting against County cuts

The County Council are meeting on this day, to discuss deep and damaging cuts to public services in our County. Pickets will be present to remind County Councillors of their duty to provide basic and essential services to County residents with the greatest needs.

Councillor David Williams, Leader of the Green Group on Oxfordshire County Council, comments:

"The mass picket march, organised by Save Oxfordshire's Children's Centres and local trade union branches with the support of Oxfordshire Green Party, is another attempt to convince County Councillors of the serious harm they are doing by pointless and cruel cuts. How will those in need of family support manage without Children's Centres? Where will the homeless go as funding for shelters is cut? How much more time will be devoted by the Police and those in Accident and Emergency departments to the care of those with mental health problems who lack adequate support".
