Stuart Macdonald, candidate for Witney North & East
Stuart Macdonald is your local candidate for Witney North & East. He has lived in the Division, in West End, for 20 years. He is married with four children and works as a professor in a management school, trying to persuade students and colleagues that society requires more than cut-throat competition. He stood as Green candidate in the last Parliamentary election, and is standing in the county council election because he believes Oxfordshire desperately needs radical change. Massive inequality deprives most people of choice. There is nowhere better to say this than in David Cameron’s own constituency, where the inequality is huge – and ignored.
“Unbridled growth makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. Under Conservative government, so does doctrinaire austerity. We have created a society ashamed of itself. There is an alternative – clever, local, sustainable development from which everyone in Oxfordshire benefits. Give it a go.”
