At the end of May three councillors were elected to Oxford City Council, and Keith Taylor was re-elected as our Green MEP for SE England. How can we build on this success to win more elections? What can we learn from our experiences in the campaign that has just finished?
The Oxfordshire Green Party is running a workshop to review the 2014 election campaign. All who helped in the campaign are welcome, from candidates and agents to those who distributed leaflets or made tea in the committee rooms on 22 May.
It will be an occasion to collect our experiences of what worked well, and what needs to be improved in this campaign, then outline some possible things to do for next year. On 6 May 2015 there will be district council elections in parts of Oxfordshire, and Westminster Parliament elections across the country.
The workshop will be facilitated to collect and rate as many ideas as possible, from everyone who comes. See if we can come up with 50 ideas in 5 minutes. That's easy using electronic brainstorming.
As well as signing up for the workshop, please also complete the survey of your experiences in the campaign (if you have not already done so). We will use the survey results as the starting point for the workshop. If you cannot make it to the workshop, please complete the survey.
To recoup room hire costs, we are selling tickets to the workshop. Contact me if that is a problem for you, we will not exclude anyone who worked hard on the campaign.
