Oxfordshire Green Party has endorsed the climate change and flooding petition which is being promoted by the Oxfordshire Climate and Flooding Alliance.
This petition, to go to David Cameron both as Prime Minister and an Oxfordshire MP, says:
“We are organisations, residents and employees in Oxfordshire. The county has experienced serious flooding, and as climate change warms the world this flooding will increase. We urge that the Government:
- Massively increase resources to prevent flooding;
- Massively increase Government funding for renewable energy, household energy saving and insulation;
- Increase efforts to achieve an international agreement that will limit global temperature rise to 2 degrees C.”
