Action needed to help rough sleepers as City slides back to pre-COVID numbers

Greens are calling on the Labour-run Oxford City Council to take urgent action to address the rising number of rough sleepers. During lockdown all rough sleepers were accommodated, now the numbers are rising again.
There is even a small encampment on the Cowley Road, something we have never seen before.
Says Green Councillor Dick Wolff,
"During lockdown, we saw that is was possible to support the homeless to the extent that rough sleeping was virtually eliminated across the City. Now, tragically, we are seeing numbers rising again. The City Council, working with other agencies, needs to take urgent and targeted action to stop a rise in entrenched rough sleeping."
